SCHOOL VISIT.

Today, November 14th, 2018, we have reached "El Rosario” community, the village closest to “El Rosario” Sanctuary, the biggest of all in density of population of Monarch butterflies. We visited grades 1st. to 5th. and delivered Ambassador Monarchs 27-72. Amidst a terrible cold and rainy day which could have brought some snow to the big numbers of Monarchs having already arrived to our forests before many, many more on the way. So, your Ambassador butterflies came to the opposite extreme end of our mountains from where we were yesterday, at the “Sierra Chincua” Sanctuary, both well around 12-15 kilometers distance one from the other. Here, our great start of your Ambassador Monarchsa arriving to the children’s classrooms, gets really started and teachers and students are just thrilled to welcome them!!!.

As you can see, your Ambassador Monarchs have brought in an extremely interesting topic to our students and teachers at their schools: Monarchs as pollinators!!!

The high interest the topic is arising among them is simply amazing!. Indeed, they know about pollination through their science books at school, but they had not realized that Monarchs are among the most important pollinators together with bats, honey bees, wasps, bumble-bees, etc.

They were dumb at the thought that the population of pollinators could diminish so, that the food demand in the world for human beings could be threatened.

The part which thrilled them, —same as yesterday—, was to learn that bats are such important pollinators too, specially for cactus plants, so common for us all over México!.

That they know now that Monarchs are pollinators, has now put an added value to their high pride on them, our forests, our wild, local flowers and else pollinators too!.

Both teachers and students expressed their deep appreciation for our visit and the message delivered to them!.
