…her Majesties…

Every start of the season, it takes Monarchs from 3 to 4 weeks to finally form their first wonderful shaped, impressively dense colonies in each of the three Sanctuaries in our region: “El Rosario”, “Sierra Chincua”, and “Cerro Pelón”, occupying areas from 30 to 50 up to over 100 impressive Oyamel trees only seen from the point in the forest where visitors are allowed to approach them from as close as possible whenever they are not disturbed at all. They are so energetic, strong, and from the far the spots they occupy look indescribably bright orange and golden brown; no camera, believe it, but only human eyes can catch the real impression of the millions and millions dressing up our forests in a unique way making a real marvel of nature. Our temperatures now drop down drastically from 18 Centigrades last week, to only 2-4 Centrigrades today, meaning that we should get ready to even get a little snow within the coming weeks, nothing for Monarchs to fear at all! We invite you to not miss one single of the posts coming from January 7th on, when schools will be back from holidays so that we can continue sharing this wonderful adventure at the still many other schools left for visiting around the other two Monarch Sanctuaries!. Happy Christmas holidays!. The Symbolic Migration.
