As students return to their classrooms, the atmosphere in our small villages around monarch overwintering spots in Central México is now returning to one that is lively, warm, and cheerful. Sanitary measures are strictly applied and our children are perfectly used to them.

Your Ambassador Monarchs, long-awaited as part of our students’ school life for nearly three generations now, were welcomed with open arms by teachers and their students at “Vicente Guerrero” Elementary School.

Our lesson of the season, “TREES,” shall be didactically brought to every class, so as to continue last season’s topic. The importance of forest conservation is an essential lesson nowadays. The monarch habitat requires determining actions for its conservation. We, and all of mankind, are living in such crucial times for conservation actions for our planet.

As the season unfolds, each school visit will be documented for you with photos and text. This season, our students will be reassured of the richness of their own natural surroundings. The overwintering monarchs in our unique Oyamel forests, their own life, their ancestral cultures, and life on earth itself as we know it now - none of these things would be possible without trees!

The little hands of our students at this small village will point to a real monarch flying over his own school while holding in his other hand a beautiful Ambassador Monarch telling about the faraway northern lands and habitat from which that monarch (real and symbolic) originated.
