Cerro Pelón Sanctuary
Coordinates: 19.3641617 -100.2908518
Being at a lower elevation and in a warmer climate, the vegetation at Sanctuary Cerro Pelón favors a large variety of animal and plant species surrounding Monarchs’ colonies. Moths and their caterpillars here are said to be amazing in colors, sizes, and patterns. Students in the class describe them with anecdotes!
“We want to thank the Symbolic Migration program for their very important contribution to our students’ learning of their own local ecosystem’s richness and protection. We are always awaiting your visit.”
