In our small villages and towns in México, a priest and a teacher have more clout in addressing the community than even local civil authorities.
Teachers are respected and cared for by the community. If a teacher comes from a far away place and is not able to travel back and forth to their home, the community organizes themselves, taking turns to providing lodging and meals for the teacher(s), at no cost, from Monday through Friday.
Estela was invited to share the delicious lunch of tacos filled with frijoles, sour cream and cheese and a refreshing hibiscus water provided by some Moms.

En nuestros pequeños poblados en México, la figura del sacerdote y del maestro tienen más poder el el llamado a la sociedad local que las mismas autoridades civiles.
Los maestros son muy respetados y queridos en nuestra comunidad. Si un maestro proviene de un lugar lejano y no puede regresar diariamente a su casa, la comunidad se organiza turnándose para asistirle con su estancia y sus alimentos, sin ningún costo, de Lunes a Viernes.
Estela estuvo invitada a compartir del delicioso almuerzo de tacos de frijoles con crema y queso y una refrescante agua de jamaica, todo preparado por algunas mamás de los alumnos.
