SCHOOL VISIT.-

“El Rosario” Ejido (territory with several communities or villages in it), is a highly extended and populated land area where “El Rosario” Monarchs’ Sanctuary is located. The “Vicente Guerrero” Elementary, visited today, November 15th., is located at only a couple of kilometers from the Sanctuary itself. The grades attending the visit were 3rd. to 6th. and the Ambassador Monarchs delivered were 73-112. Even though all families to children at schools are living from agriculture since ancestral times, and ever since knowledge on their own land, culture and traditions used to be passed from generation to generation, modernity and technology, such as cell phones have severely distracted nowadays generations, taking them apart from following this ancestral learning and practices. At attending their presentation on Pollintors today, delivered by the Symbolic Migration visit to their schools, children seemed to not quite being aware of the vital importance of Pollinator Insects in our region for our own survival. While they have basic knowledge on what pollination consists on, they were amazed to see and hear that Monarchs are pollinators and they actually ignored that bats are too!!!. The assessment on each aspect of pollination and pollinators in our region refreshed their minds and brought lots of new knowledge to them today, learning pollination is a vital activity for the survival and health of all ecosystems in our plantet!. They were thrilled to get their Ambassador Monarchs and their gifts in it, as well as to write and decorate their beautiful letters to their counterparts in Canada and the United States!.
