SCHOOL VISIT.-
This school is located in the very nearness of the Monarch Colony overwintering in “El Rosario” Sanctuary. All of these children will be the future ejidatarios owning the rights of these territories; they are really proud that now a job for their parents or grandparents at the sanctuary is allowing them to count on a stable life without having them to leave to the big cities looking for a job as it used to be much before they were born. By delivering a message on conservation every single season, —this season, for example, bringing the topic of pollinators to them, the Symbolic Migration aims to make all these children realize that there are wonderful ways to manage a sustainable life better and better, far more than we could have imagined, as we learn how much our own local ecosystem works and how much it is giving us. In a fun and entertainment way, children have loved to learn what pollinators do for us!!!. “Bats!, Bees!, Hummingbirds!, Wasps!, Beetles!, Bugs!, Moths!, Butterflies!, Monarchs among them!, ooohhh how fun and how much we have learned today”! —most children exclaim in so many different ways!!!—. “We did not even know how to exactly distinguish these from the others!”, —most agreed and recognized with surprise!. “Who could have imagined pollinators are working all day long for us?”, —they wondered with surprise too—. In the end, at every single visit to everey school, letting children know that it is urgent to preserve our local plant and animal species and the way they are act like a wonderful machinery keeping a miraculous equilibrium around us, shall urgently lead to the need of the restoration of our local habitat, since while the buffer and core forest nucleous where Monarchs overwinter may look dense and healthy, there are mountains beside where the dryness and the agricultural practices could perhaps get relieved by trying to rescue forest areas and plant and animal species.
