Lunch or break time at our schools happens from 11 a.m. to 12 noon. Our students start school between 8 and 9 a.m. They leave school between 1 and 2 p.m.

Break time at our schools is being observed as it was before COVID. The only difference is, that instead of parents or teachers organizing snacks or meals for children to have as lunch, now mothers are being asked to prepare lunch at home for their children to bring with them to school.

Our educational authorities are strongly advising students and their families to avoid including junk food in the family diet. We do have serious cases of obesity in our youngsters. This is considered a serious topic of public health in México. Our sanitary and educational institutions are making a huge effort to overcome this situation through radio, television, and live conferences at schools for parents and families on the matter.

Our children’s diet for lunch consists of a “torta” (sandwich), tacos, yogurt, fruit, bread, meat, eggs, beans, and potatoes.

During lunchtime, students can do their traditional games and be together with no restrictions related to COVID measures.
