At El Rosario Sanctuary!
THE VISIT
El Rosario Sanctuary
Coordinates: 19.593 -100.263
The Christmas and New Year school vacation is a time for our students that live in the surrounding communities to visit the overwintering sanctuaries with their parents. Learning to become a future Ejidatario, practicing traditional cooking, and becoming versed in our traditions and culture should start early in childhood.
“Moths are as enigmatic and exceptional as salamanders. Their beauty is amazing and together with Monarchs, they are a sign of the uniqueness and equilibrium of this ecosystem.” Estela remarked.
“Ambassador butterflies bring such rich content with images of the Monarch life cycle and the ecosystems in their breeding regions to the north. The gift Ambassadors we receive are a lesson which we and our parents can share as tourist guides, forest rangers, reforestation leaders, and Ejidatarios heirs.”
Young moms who attended Symbolic Migration lessons years ago and are now running their own restaurants and craft stores expressed their gratitude for the program.
