The small village of San Jerónimo has its own Kindergarten, elementary, middle and high school for the local ejidatario families.

San Jerónimo together with Sanacoche community (visited days ago), are indeed the most pristine and exceptionally beautiful part-of the forest for the Sierra Chincua Sanctuary.

However, the droughts we have experienced during the last few years have reached even these deep forests. Our rivers are, for decades now, only creeks that are fiercely protected by local families. Our Ajolote (Ambystoma mexicanum) is endemic to these streams.

Monarchs get from SOIL and water in our Oyamel forests the necessary minerals they need to start their long Journey North in March.

La pequeña comunidad de San Jerónimo tiene su propio pre-escolar, primaria. secundaria y preparatoria para los mismas familias de ejidatarios.

San Jerónimo junto con Sanacoche (que visitamos hace días), son sin duda las partes de bosque más prístino y excepcionalmente hermoso de los bosques de Sierra Chincua.

Sin embargo, las sequías que hemos experimentado los últimos años han afectado incluso estos bosques espesos. Nuestros ríos se han convertido, , por varias décadas hoy, en ciénagas o riachuelos que son celosamente protegidos por las familias locales. Nuestro Ajolóte (Ambystoma Mexicanum) es endémico a éstos suelos.

Las Monarcas obtienen los minerales necesarios que ellas necesitan de nuestro SUELO y agua para prepararse para su largo viaje al Norte en Marzo.
