SCHOOL VISIT.-
Dear friends, your Ambassador Monarchs have arrived to one of the most populated schools closest to “El Rosario Sanctuary” surroundings. Our first session today has delivered Ambassadors 596-674 to grades 1st. to 3rd. It has been wonderful to go with children over the way our local ecosystem is connected. “How long do you think the surrounding mountains where our beautiful Oyamel forests are for Monarchs to overwinter too to get formed?”, —Estela asks as she encourages them to look through their windows to the impressive mountains and Oyamel forests —. “50 years; 100 years 300 years”, —one child responds after another. “Mmm, I am afraid much, much more; many, many, many thousands of years!”. Children cannot believe it!. “So, we should take great care on every single little creature either plant or animal, in order to preserve our own lives. Among others, there are some little creatures I want to tell you about”. Children got the general idea of pollination in a wonderful way. They loved to hear that Monarchs are doing something so important as pollination while they are overwintering in our Oyamel forests!. “and how does it come that hummingbirds and bees are so hard working all day so that we can have lots of food?; how is it possible that bats which we believed were so frightening are so hard working at night?”, -they asked not believing their ears and eyes—. The moment they received their Ambassador, symbolic Monarchs: “from so far away where Monarchs come from these butterflies and gifts are coming specially for us from our friends living there because we live near the Monarchs here?; That special they make us?”. —And so forth they welcomed the symbolic migration visit and our topic of this year on pollination, in very general terms due to their age.
