"Emiliano Zapata" elementary, 2nd. part

SCHOOL VISIT.-

The second part of the symbolic migration visit made to the “Emiliano Zapata” elementary, one of the most populated elementary schools closest to “El Rosario Sanctuary” was really interesting. Every child in the class was rapt attention to the topic of pollination and pollinators, as they listened that Monarchs were part of it. “It is so interesting to hear all this; if mom or dad would be here, they would be really interested, since my father belongs to the team of the reforestation crew, and mom is a guide to tourists in the colony; she will be happy to hear this when I talk to her, because she will learn that Monarchs are pollinators and that they, together with bees, hummingbirds, bats at night, etcétera, are all part of the animal life at the Sanctuary!”, —Imelda, attending 5th. grade, commented—. “my brother and sister and grand-pa’s are all working at the sanctuary this year; they will really pay attention when at dinner time I tell them about our pollinator insects and their importance, they say the more we get to know about it, the more we realize how important it is to care of our Oyamel forests!, not only for Monarchs!, but for every single living part in it and for ourselves and our future!”, —another boy commented—. “How rich we are without noticing it!; we have so much to eat, and would have never known that pollinators are working so hard to give us food every single day!”, —they commented in their wonderful, simple and concrete way of reflecting the topic of the day—!!!.. Wonderful, wonderful this topic of pollinators which is awakening so much sensibility in our teachers and children1, specially in children like these whose families higly depend now on the preservation of our local ecosystem.
