THE VISIT

Why are trees such extraordinary living beings?

How do they grow?

How long can they live?

Why is they forest a home for many animals? How do they build their nests?

What can we get from trees? Food, fibers, oils, lumber, rain and much more…

How do they clean the air we breath?

What are the different kinds of forests?

How is modern civilization damaging them?

Can forests produce the rain?

How does the forest get clean?

Why are there not so many flowers or animals in some forests?

Why do mushrooms grow by trees?

Why and how can a tree get sick?

Why do we need lumber?

WE ALL OWN OUR FORESTS, SO, WE ARE ALL RESPONSIBLE OF THEIR CONSERVATION!.

The Monarch Butterfly Fund’s grant this year allowed for the purchase of thirty copies each of two specialized titles for children related to these questions listed and many more aspects on TREES. The topic of the season through the Symbolic Migration program has been “The Benefits of Trees” to bring to students around the Monarchs’ Overwintering spots in México.

These books were complemented with Monarchs Across Georgia’s book donations. Each additional book featured an extremely important aspect that local teachers consider urgent to rescue and reinforce each single season at the communities surrounding the Monarch Butterflies Sanctuaries in México. Topics included the Cosmo-Vision, the praising and conservation of the language, the clothing, the family structure and organization, the local culture and the ancestral traditions at the surrounding communities in this region of Central México.

Fantastic illustrations and content made our books this year an outstanding contribution to local students thorough education. Local teachers and families themselves have welcomed with open doors the Symbolic Migration’s visit at each school, recreation space, and this year, even the local churches since lessons are nowadays considered by the community itself a determining aspect for their own children’s future.
