Ambassadors: 45-79

In spite of Macheros being a relatively small village, it has schools from Kindergarten to High School level. The High School was built most recently just three years ago.
All the students live only a few hundred meters away from their schools, so, while walking there, they have opportunities to appreciate the beautiful and nearly pristine natural surroundings.
They are aware of water pollution and some actions to prevent it which is the topic of our lesson this season
Monarchs are indeed, as we all agreed, an indicator of the purity of the water from springs and streams and also the nutrient content in their soil.
The Ajolote Mexicano (Axolotl, in Náhuatl language, the most spoken in México nowadays after Spanish), endemic around the Monarchs’ sanctuaries, is an exceptional indicator of the pureness of water.
As we go on, we shall learn the amazing characteristics of this incredible amphibian, the king of our local streams, wells, and wetlands.
