El Rosario Community is indeed the largest and most populated area that the Symbolic Migration visits. While urbanization in these rural areas brings development and opportunities, it also negatively impacts the area’s wonderful natural surroundings.

“Receiving lessons from Symbolic Migration every season has brought us invaluable information” a couple of students expressed in their letter to their counterparts in Canada and the United States.

“It is the first time I have heard that without pollinators, mankind could survive an average of only five years,” one student expressed, getting exceptionally interested in the presentation.

“I heard on the radio some weeks ago that in southern México, there was a town where, as if “out of the blue,” one early morning, local inhabitants found a huge carpet of dead bees in their agricultural fields. They said that clues pointed to either an agrochemical fertilizer or even a certain radioactivity event due to upgrading of technology development in the region,” a girl added.

“Many pollinator species are being negatively affected because of the high urbanization. The first impact is the loss of habitat, reducing floral resources in urban areas. Fewer places for reproduction and refuge from the lights and noise of towns are available. Plants, as a consequence, drastically diminish their reproduction. The loss of pollinators is a matter of food production security worldwide nowadays.” Was the highlight on the content of one of their donated books telling about the cons’ of non-friendly development and urbanization in the modern era we are living.

THE AMAZING IMAGE OF A CRYSALIS WITH THE WINGS OF A MONARCH WELL INTO ITS ECLOSING STAGE in one of your Ambassadors and MONARCHS’ HABITAT AND LIFE-CYCLE ILLUSTRATED in another Ambassador, is something they shall never see living here, completing so in our students the whole sense of the fascination of Monarch butterflies’ phenomenon and the uniqueness of their own homeland.

Teachers and students were proud to show Symbolic Migration their pollinator garden, built in a terraced design due to the steep terrain, a characteristic condition of our own homeland.

“Your books and material donation are invaluable sources of information, reinforcing in our students the need to become a productive unit with their own natural surroundings,” teachers closed, expressing great appreciation for the Symbolic Migration’s visit this season!

La comunidad del El Rosario tiene sin duda la población más larga que visita la Migración Simbólica. Mientras la urbanización en éstas áreas trae progreso y oportunidades, también impacta negativamente el maravilloso entorno natural de la zona.

“Recibir las lecciones de la Migración Simbólica cada temporada nos ha traído información invaluable” expresaron un par de estudiantes en sus cartas a sus amigos de Canadá y los Estados Unidos.

“Ésta es la primera vez que he escuchado que sin polinizadores, la humanidad podría sobrevivir tan sólo un promedio de cinco años” expresó un estudiante que se mostraba excpcionalmente interesado en la presentación.

“Yo escuché en el radio hace unas semanas que en el sur de México, hay un poblado donde, de la nada, una mañana, los habitantes se encontraron frente a una enorme área cubierta de abejas muertas en sus campos de cultivo. También dijeron que todo apuntaba ya sea al uso de un fertilizante agro-químico ó incluso algun evento de radioactividad debido al desarrollo de tecnología en la región”, agregó una chica estudiante.

“Muchas especies de polinizadores están siendo negativamente afectados por los grandes niveles de urbanización. El primer impacto el la pérdida de habitat que reduce los recursos de floración en las áreas urbanas. Cada vez hay menos lugares para la reproducción y el refugio de las luces y el ruido de las zonas urbanas. Como consecuencia, las plantas reducen drásticamente su reproducción. La pérdida de polinizadores es un tema de seguridad alimentaria a nivel mundial hoy en día”. Fué la parte más sobresaliente que se leyó en el contenido de uno de sus libros donados que habla de los contras del desarrollo y la urbanización no-amigable en los tiempos modernos que vivimos.

Estudiantes y maestros se mostraron orgullosos de mostrar a la Migración Simbólica su jardín para polinizadores diseñado en forma de terrazas debido a la inclinación de su terreno, una condición topográfica característica de nuestro lugar.

“Sus libros y material donado son fuentes de información invaluables para nosotros, pues refuerza en nuestros estudiantes la necesidad de convertirse en una sola unidad productiva con su propio entorno natural” ¡se despidieron los maestros expresando su agradecimiento por la visita de la Migración Simbólica esta temporada!
